Paquette re-signs with Grizzlies


West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced that the team has signed forward Danick Paquette for the 2014-15 season.

The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League and the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Paquette returns to the Grizzlies after he was the team’s second-leading scorer in 2013-14 with 49 points (23g-26a) in 67 games. He led the ECHL with 277 penalty minutes and served as an alternate captain for the team this past season.

The 24-year-old scored 16 of his 23 goals in the second half of the season last year and the Grizzlies were 17-3 when he scored a goal. He led the Grizzlies in goals at home with 13 goals at Maverik Center in 2013-14. The season was Paquette’s second stint with the Grizzlies after playing nine games with the team in 2011-12.

Paquette has recorded 104 points (51g-53a) in 198 career ECHL games with Utah, Reading, Chicago, South Carolina and Gwinnett. A native of Montreal, Quebec, Paquette was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the third round (64th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
