Pensacola Acquires Brenk, Hires Antropik

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Brabham Cup Champion Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that they acquired forward Jake Brenk from the Greenville Grrrowl in exchange for financial considerations and that they have hired Corby Antropik as equipment manager.

The Ice Pilots are the ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the fifth round (154th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Brenk signed with Greenville in 2004-05 after completing his college season at Minnesota State University Mankato and had three points (2g-1a) in 11 regular season games and also played in two Kelly Cup Playoff games.

Antropik, who was equipment manager for San Angelo in the Central Hockey League in 2004-05, replaces John Krouse, who became equipment manager for Iowa of the AHL following six seasons with the Ice Pilots.
