Pensacola Signs Rookie Defenseman Sutton

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that they have signed rookie defenseman Pat Sutton, who will attend training camp with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. Pensacola is the ECHL affiliate of Toronto of the NHL and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

The 21-year-old Sutton scored 26 points (7g-19a) and had 86 penalty minutes in 68 games for Belleville of the Ontario Hockey League in 2004-05.

The 6-1 and 205-pound Sutton played one season with Saul Ste Marie of the OHL and two seasons with Owen Sound of the OHL. In four seasons, Sutton had 296 penalty minutes and 55 points (12g-43a) in 251 career OHL games.
