Pensacola’s Neilson Named In Glas Co
ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Pensacola defenseman Corey Neilson is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for March 28-April 3.

The two-time All-Star starting defenseman scored six goals and seven points in three games, helping Pensacola go 3-1-0 to secure the Ice Pilots first Brabham Cup, awarded to the league point champion.

The 6-5 and 230-pound Neilson scored a goal in a 5-3 loss to Louisiana on March 29 and had two goals, including the game winner, and an assist in a 6-5 overtime win against Texas on Friday. Neilson scored his second game-winning goal of the week and his first hat trick of the season in a 7-4 win over Mississippi on Saturday. The 28-year-old leads ECHL defensemen in points (61), goals (18) and assists (43) and has a seven-game scoring streak (6g-7a).
