Pensacola’s Pankewicz Suspended Five Games

PRINCETON, N.J. – The East Coast Hockey League announced on Wednesday that Pensacola right wing Greg Pankewicz has been suspended five games for his actions in ECHL Game 51 at Mississippi on October 19.

Following a Mississippi goal at 6:19 of the second period, Pankewicz was released from the penalty box and proceeded to the Pensacola players’ bench. Pankewicz then came off the bench and instigated a fight with a Mississippi player prior to play resuming.

Pankewicz was assessed a double game misconduct under Rule 56(a) and Rule 72(a). He is suspended five games under Rule 72(a).

Pankewicz will miss Pensacola’s games vs. Jackson (Oct. 25), at Mississippi (Oct. 26), at Arkansas (Oct. 27), vs. Baton Rouge (Nov. 1) and vs. Mississippi (Nov. 2).
