Pensacola’s Serbus Named Trainer For
United States Under-17 Select Team

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Pensacola head athletic trainer Jason Serbus has been selected as the athletic trainer for the 2004 United States Under-17 Select Team scheduled to compete August 24-28 in the 2004 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament in Halle an der Saale, Germany. Named the Florida Professional Sports Trainer of the Year by the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida, Serbus is in his fourth season as head athletic trainer for the Ice Pilots.

Employed by NovaCare Rehabilitation, the Official Sports Medicine Provider of the Ice Pilots, Serbus was selected in a vote of his peers to be the athletic trainer for the Western Conference at the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game on January 21 in Peoria, Ill. In his third year with the Ice Pilots, the 29-year-old Serbus worked training camp in 2003 with Pensacola’s National Hockey League affiliate, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The United States will face teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland and host Germany. The United States is looking for its third consecutive championship, having won the title in 2002 and 2003.
