PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced that the web site of the Phoenix RoadRunners (PhxRoadRunners.com) has been selected as the ECHL Web Site of the Year.
The web sites for each of the ECHL teams were reviewed by Rich Libero, who is in his seventh year as Vice President Editorial & Production for NHL.com, the official web site of the National Hockey League. The RoadRunners finished ahead of the Gwinnett Gladiators (GwinnettGladiators.com) and the Bakersfield Condors (BakersfieldCondors.com).
“The RoadRunners have a professional-looking web site with lots of color and style that doesn’t overwhelm the user. Navigation is simple and the homepage accomplishes quite a bit of business without feeling cluttered,” said Libero. “The site makes good use of ‘behind-the-scenes’ multimedia to give fans a personal view of what happens off the ice,” he added. “The history section is a very nice addition to pay tribute to Phoenix’s rich hockey background.”
The web site was designed in conjunction with InfinityProSports.com and is maintained through the efforts of Vice President, Interactive Services Jeramie McPeek and Publishing Coordinator Josh Greene with assistance from the award-winning staff at Suns.com, the official web site of the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association. Launched in August 2005, PhxRoadRunners.com provides a fresh and colorful look combined with easy access to schedule, roster and ticket information while also providing a variety of photograph galleries and video archives. In addition to the current RoadRunners, visitors can visit a special section of the web site to relive the history of Arizona’s first professional sports franchise through its glory days in the Western Hockey League and the International Hockey League.
