Pittsburgh Hires Bombers’ Clancey As Scout

DAYTON, Ohio – The American Conference champion Dayton Bombers announced that co-head coach Derek Clancey has accepted a scouting position with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

The Bombers are the ECHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL and the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Dayton was 37-26-9 and finished first in the North Division with 83 points, a 37-point improvement from 2005-06, and returned to the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2002. The Bombers advanced to the Kelly Cup Finals and became the first team in the 19-year history of the ECHL to win two Game 7s in a single postseason.
