Playoff Hero Paul Flache Joins Gladiators

DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that defenseman Paul Flache has been assigned to the team from Chicago of the American Hockey League. Gwinnett is the ECHL affiliate for Chicago of the AHL and Atlanta of the National Hockey League. Flache, whose twin brother Peter also plays for Gwinnett, is expected to be in uniform for the Gladiators on Friday against Augusta.

Selected in the fifth round (144th overall) by Atlanta in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-6 and 227-pound Paul Flache has 14 points (3g-11a) in 44 games with Chicago.

In 2003-04 with Gwinnett, Flache scored 15 points (3g-15a) in 62 regular season games and four points (2g-2a) in 10 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, including the double-overtime game-winning goal against Louisiana that clinched the Central Division title.
