NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Predators announced that they have made qualifying offers to former Greenville center Simon Gamache and former Peoria right wing Jeremy Yablonski.
In 2004-05 with Milwaukee of the American Hockey League, the 24-year-old Gamache was First Team All-AHL, setting career highs with 57 assists and 86 points in 80 regular season games, and played in the 2005 AHL All-Star Game. In 2004-05, the 25-year-old Yablonski had 116 penalty minutes and five points (3g-2a) in 32 games with Milwaukee of the AHL.
In 11 career NHL games with Atlanta and Nashville, Gamache has scored two points (1g-1a). Yablonski made his NHL debut with St. Louis on December 30, 2003 and had a second-period fight with Todd Fedoruk, who played with Trenton in 1999-2000.
In his first professional season in 2001-02, the 5-9 and 185-pound Gamache helped Greenville capture the 2002 Kelly Cup Championship, sharing Kelly Cup Playoffs Most Valuable Player honors with teammate Tyrone Garner. Selected by Atlanta in the ninth round (290th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Gamache led the playoffs with 15 goals, six power-play goals and 24 points while his three game-winning goals tied him for the postseason lead. Gamache scored a point in the last 11 postseason games (11g-6a) and also had a seven-game goal-scoring streak in the playoffs. He scored 38 points (19g-19a) in 38 regular season games for the Grrrowl while also scoring six points (2g-4a) in 26 games with Chicago of the American Hockey League.
In 2003-04, Gamache scored one goal in seven games with Nashville and 45 points (18g-27a) in 52 regular season games with Milwaukee after being acquired from Atlanta on December 2, 2003. Gamache led Milwaukee with 18 assists in the postseason and scored at least a point in all four games of the Calder Cup Finals, including a four-point night (1g-3a) in Game 4, while helping the Admirals capture the AHL title. Gamache was one of eight former ECHL players on Milwaukee.
In 2003-04, the 23-year-old Yablonski has two assists and 62 penalty minutes in 13 games with Peoria and 19 penalty minutes in five games with Worcester of the American Hockey League. In 31 games with Grand Rapids of the AHL in 2003-04, the 23-year-old Barnes has scored nine points (1g-8a).
The 6-2 and 230-pound Yablonski had 154 penalty minutes and three points (1g-2a) in 24 regular season games with Peoria in 2002-03 and 42 penalty minutes in nine regular season games with Cincinnati of the AHL. Yablonski also played with Worcester in 2002-03 finishing with 50 penalty minutes and one goal in 20 regular season games and two penalty minutes in one playoff game.
