Rangers, Grenier Agree To Terms

NEW YORK – The New York Rangers announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Martin Grenier, who played in Charlotte in 2004-05. Charlotte is the ECHL affiliate of the Rangers and the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

The 24-year-old Grenier missed the majority of 2004-05 with an injury, registering two assists and 10 penalty minutes in four games with Charlotte and seven points (2g-5a) and 136 penalty minutes in 23 regular season games with Hartford and then led the Wolf Pack in the playoffs with 32 penalty minutes.

Selected in the second round (45th overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-6 and 258-pound Grenier has played parts of three seasons in the National Hockey League with Phoenix and Vancouver, accumulating 14 penalty minutes in 15 games.
