Rangers Reassign Barnes, Jamtin To Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League have reassigned rookie forwards Joe Barnes and Andreas Jamtin from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League to Charlotte.

The Checkers are the ECHL affiliate of the Rangers of the NHL and the Wolf Pack of the AHL.

Selected in the third round (64th overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Barnes had three points (2g-1a) and eight penalty minutes in five games for the Checkers in 2007-08.

Selected in the fifth round (157th overall) by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 25-year-old Jamtin has four penalty minutes in three games with Hartford.
