CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League have reassigned All-Star forward Bruce Graham and rookie defenseman Michael Busto from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
Charlotte is the ECHL affiliate of the Rangers of the NHL and Hartford of the AHL.
Selected in the second round (51st overall) by the New York Rangers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Rangers, the 6-foot-6 and 235-pound Graham scored in each of Charlotte’s first six games before being reassigned to Hartford on Nov. 5 and he has six points (4g-2a) for the Checkers. In 10 games with the Wolf Pack, the 21 year old had one assist.
The 21-year-old Busto attended training camp with the Rangers and Wolf Pack, but has not played a professional game because of injury. He played the last five years in the Western Hockey League where he had 160 points (41g-119a) and 369 penalty minutes in 328 regular season games and 14 points (3g-11a) and 42 penalty minutes in 38 playoff games with Kootenay, Moose Jaw and Swift Current.
