PRINCETON, N.J. – Reading’s Adam Hauser is the ITECH Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for October 17-19.
Hauser, who won the award twice last season, had a shutout and two wins while helping the Royals to a 2-0-0 start, the best in team history. Hauser made 30 saves in a 6-1 win at Trenton on Friday and then stopped all 17 shots he faced in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Texas in front of a sellout crowd of 7,215 at the Sovereign Center.
Selected in the third round (81st overall) by Edmonton in the 1999 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Hauser is 2-0-0 with a shutout, a 0.50 goals against average and a .979 save percentage. He is tied for the ECHL lead in wins and shutouts while ranking third in goals against average and fourth in save percentage.
Hauser, who was selected to 2003 ECHL All-Star Game, 20-9-4 with a 2.46 goals against average and a .916 save percentage in 34 games with Jackson in 2002-03. He led the ECHL with five shutouts while ranking third in goals against average and sixth in save percentage. He was 0-0-1 with a 2.80 goals against average and a .917 save percentage in one game with Providence of the American Hockey League.
