Red Sox’ Millar Will Attend Wildcatters Game

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas Wildcatters announced that Kevin Millar of the World Champion Boston Red Sox and country and western singer Zona Jones will both attend the team’s game against Pensacola on Saturday.

Millar, who played at Lamar University and who makes his winter home in Beaumont, appeared in all four games of the Red Sox sweep of St. Louis in the World Series after batting .297 with 18 home runs and 74 RBI in 150 regular season games.

Jones, who will perform the National Anthem before the game, began his career in the same Beaumont club where country music stars Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Byrd began their careers. One of Nashville’s hot young country artists, Jones’ debut album “Harleys and Horses” produced the hit songs “Whiskey Kind of Way” and “House of Negotiable Affections.”
