Ringwald Assigned To Thunder

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced rookie defenseman Dan Ringwald has been loaned to the Thunder from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

Ringwald, 24, will be available to make his Thunder debut when the team returns to play Friday, Nov. 5 against the Bakersfield Condors at 7:30 p.m.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound defenseman completed a four-year (2006-10) college career last season for Rochester Institute of Technology (NCAA), leaving as the program’s all-time leading scorer among defensemen (NCAA Division-I level) and the all-time program leader in assists.

A nominee last year for the Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to the top player in NCAA men’s hockey, Ringwald captained RIT to their first ever appearance in the NCAA Frozen Four as a 2009-10 senior and a school record 28 wins, scoring a career-high 37 points (11g-26a) in 41 games which was third in the nation in scoring among defensemen.
