Rivermen Sign Rookie Stauffacher,
Byrne Reassigned From Worcester

PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Rivermen announced that they have signed rookie forward Luke Stauffacher and that defenseman Trevor Byrne has been reassigned from Worcester of the American Hockey League. Peoria is the ECHL affiliate of Worcester of the AHL and St. Louis of the National Hockey League.

The 5-7 and 175-pound Stauffacher, whose brother Chad Stauffacher played for Peoria in 2000-01, recently completed a four-year career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth where he scored 74 points (36g-38a) in 154 career games, including a career high 35 points (17g-18a) as a junior in 2003-04.

Prior to playing at UMD, Stauffacher played four years with Green Bay of the United States Hockey League, leading the team with 33 assists and 46 points in 56 games in 2000-01.
