RoadRunners Acquire Kerr, Sign Rookie Hooton

PHOENIX – The Phoenix RoadRunners announced that they have acquired defenseman Stuart Kerr and future considerations from the Pensacola Ice Pilots in exchange for left wing Travis Lisabeth and defenseman Nikita Korovkin. Phoenix also announced that they have signed rookie center Brock Hooton.

The RoadRunners are the ECHL affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.

The 22-year-old Kerr has not played a game in 2006-07 after he had six points (3g-3a) and 46 penalty minutes in 34 games with Reading and one assist and 25 penalty minute in 17 games with Pensacola as a rookie in 2005-06.

Selected in the fifth round (150th overall) by the Ottawa Senators in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Hooton attended training camp with the San Jose Sharks of the and was later assigned to the Worcester Sharks of the AHL. He played four years at St. Cloud State where he had 62 points (19g-43a) in 143 games, including career bests with seven goals, 20 assists and 27 points in 42 games in 2005-06.
