NBA MVP Nash Honorary Captain

PHOENIX – The Phoenix RoadRunners announced that Phoenix Suns guard and National Basketball Association Most Valuable Player Steve Nash will be honorary captain and drop the ceremonial first puck for Friday’s game against San Diego.

The RoadRunners are hosting “NBA Weekend” at America West Arena and the team will be wearing special Phoenix Suns-themed jerseys on Friday and Saturday.

Nash, who played hockey growing up in Victoria, British Columbia, was First Team All-NBA after averaging 15.5 points per game and a league-leading 11.5 assists per game in 2004-05. He joins Bob Cousy, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson as the only guards in NBA history to be named NBA MVP.
