Robinson assigned to Jackals, New recalled


ELMIRA, N.Y. – The
Elmira Jackals announced that forward Buddy Robinson has been reassigned to the club by the Ottawa Senators from the Binghamton Senators, and that defenseman Danny New has been recalled from his loan by Binghamton.

Robinson, 22, is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound rookie who hails from Bellmawr, N.J. He signed a three-year entry level contract with Ottawa on March 25, 2013, after finishing his sophomore season at Lake Superior State University. Robinson went on to post four points (2g-2a) in six regular-season games last year with Binghamton before appearing in two Calder Cup playoff games. This year, his first full season as a pro, Robinson has 11 points (6g-5a) in 23 games for Binghamton.

New, a second-year pro out of Providence College, is headed to the American Hockey League for the first time this year. He currently leads Elmira defensemen with 11 points (2g-9a) in 21 games and has five points (1g-4a) in four games this month. New appeared in 33 games for Binghamton last year and registered seven points (2g-5a) and a +9 rating. He also scored 11 points (2g-9a) in 21 games for Elmira in his rookie season.
