TRENTON, N.J. – The Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans announced that they have been loaned goaltender Scott Stirling by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Trenton is the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League and the Philadelphia Phantoms and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
Stirling is 108-39-15 in the ECHL and was named First Team All-ECHL in 2001 and 2004 and was Rookie of the Year in 2001. He is the only two-time winner of the ECHL Goaltender of the Year award (2001 and 2004) and in 2004 became only the second goaltender in league history to be named MVP. Stirling holds the record for most ECHL All-Star Game appearances and starts by a goaltender and was named the MVP in 2003 after making 11 saves in the first period of an 8-2 win. He helped Atlantic City win the Kelly Cup in 2003 and advance to the conference finals in 2002 and in 2001 was a part of Trenton’s team that reached the Kelly Cup Finals. In 2004-05 with Danbury in the United Hockey League, Stirling was 35-18-5 in 59 games.
