Royals agree to terms with Linsmayer
Reading, Pa. – The Reading Royals, ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, announced that the organization has agreed to terms with forward Rob Linsmayer.
Linsmayer, who hails from Winnetka, Ill., will be entering his first full season of pro hockey. Last year, after completing his senior season at College of the Holy Cross, Linsmayer played four games for the Idaho Steelheads and scored his first pro goal in a 5-0 win over the San Francisco Bulls in late March.
Linsmayer, who recently attended NHL Rookie Camp with the Washington Capitals, tied for second in scoring at Holy Cross last season, recording 27 points (7g-20a) in 36 games while serving as an alternate captain for the Crusaders. In his junior year, Linsmayer led Atlantic Hockey with five game-winning goals and earned a selection to the Holy Cross Leadership Academy. He played a school record 150 games during his four year stint at Holy Cross, recording 100 points (39g-61a) in his collegiate career with the Crusaders.
