Royals’ Stephenson Named In Glas Co
ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Shay Stephenson of the Reading Royals is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for November 14-20.

Under contract to the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League, the 22-year-old had five points (4g-1a) and a plus-minus rating of +3 as Reading went 2-0-0 to within a point of North Division leader Wheeling. In a 6-3 win over division rival Dayton on November 18, Stephenson had an assist and a plus-minus rating of +1. On November 19, he scored a team record four goals, including a power-play goal and the game-winning goal, as the Royals beat South Carolina 6-1 to improve to 5-0-0 at home.

Selected in the ninth round (278th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and again in the seventh round (178th overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2003 Entry Draft, the 6-foot-4 and 200-pound rookie left wing is tied for second on the team in goals (6) and tied for the lead in plus-minus rating (+7).
