RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes and AHL’s Springfield Falcons, announced the re-signing of forward Cody Ferriero for the 2015-16 season. Ferrierobecomes the tenth forward on the Rush roster, and the seventh returning player from last season.
Ferriero recorded his first professional hat trick just three games into his ECHL tenure, and that sparked a run in which he scored 45 points (20g-25a) in just 39 games. In the playoffs, the rookie finished as the leading scorer on the Rush roster with nine points (5g-4a) in 13 games, and also led the team with five goals.
Prior to turning pro, the 23-year-old played college hockey at Northeastern University, and was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round (127th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
