Salmon Kings Sign Former NHLer Laing
Victoria, BC – The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed veteran forward Quintin Laing for the 2010-11 season.
The Harris, SK native spent the majority of his 2009-10 season in the National Hockey League (NHL), appearing in 36 games with the Washington Capitals. During that stretch he recorded four points (2g-2a) and 21 minutes in penalties.
Laing has appeared in 79 career NHL games split between the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks. For his NHL career he has amassed three goals and eight assists for 11 points while serving 31 penalty minutes. The veteran forward was also represented as the Capitals’ 2007-08 nomination for the league’s Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to ice hockey.
