Schepke returning to Evansville
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville IceMen have agreed to terms with left winger Matt Schepke for the 2013-14 season.
The IceMen are the ECHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League and the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Schepke, 28, played in 15 games with the IceMen last season, totaling seven points on four goals and three assists. The Warren, Mich. native is no stranger to the ECHL, as he has appeared in 204 games in the league with the IceMen, Wheeling Nailers (2011-12), Reading Royals (2011-12), Greenville Road Warriors (2010-11/13) and Charlotte Checkers (2008-9/10) tallying 118 points (57g-61a). Schepke had a 16-game stint with the Braehead Clan of the EIHL in the 2012-13 season, recording 10 points (7g-3a).
Prior to turning pro, Schepke played at Michigan State University from 2006-09, where he appeared in 98 games, totaling 54 points (28g-26a). In addition, Schepke has appeared in six games in the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Albany River Rats and Hartford Wold Pack.
