Simpson Returns As Steelheads Play-By-Play

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads announced that Rob Simpson (pictured right) will replace Britt Talbert (pictured left), who has become the director of hockey operations for the City of Boise, as the play-by-play broadcaster for the team’s radio and television broadcasts.

Simpson, who was the Steelheads play-by-play broadcaster from the inaugural season in 1997-98 to 2000-01, has been working for Maple Leafs Television, a 24-hour a day, seven-days a week network formed in 2001 which focuses on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ontario-related hockey players. Simpson is the producer and host of “Maple Leaf America” which focuses on former Leafs players and Leafs fans across the United States.

Simpson, who will handle broadcast responsibilities through March 13, will also host the Bud Light Idaho Steelheads Hockey Show.
