Smith Rejoins Storm

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Storm announced that left wing Scooter Smith has been reassigned from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Smith, who played in two games with Portland and did not register a point, is tied for third in the league with 12 assists and tied for fourth in scoring with 19 points, both team highs for Toledo.

He was named ECHL Player of the Month for October after tying for the league lead with two game-winning goals and 11 points (5g-6a) in five games. In 2004-05 with the Storm, the 25-year-old Smith had 39 points (13g-26a) in 41 regular season games and one assist in four Kelly Cup Playoff games.

In his first full professional season in 2003-04 with Dayton, Reading and Trenton, the 5-foot-10 and 180-pound Smith had 30 points (11g-19a) in 67 games.
