Smith Signs With AHL’s Manitoba

WINNIPEG, Manitoba – The Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed former Trenton left wing Jeff Smith. The Columbia Inferno is the ECHL affiliate of the Moose and the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League.

In 2004-05, the 24-year-old Smith had four goals and 19 penalty minutes in 17 regular season games and also played in two postseason as Trenton won the Kelly Cup and he had five points (1g-4a) and 116 penalty minutes in 41 regular season games with Philadelphia of the AHL.

Smith began his professional career in 2002-03 and had eight points (1g-7a) and 103 penalty minutes in 35 regular season games and four penalty minutes in one Kelly Cup Playoff game for Trenton and one goal and 22 penalty minutes in 11 games with Philadelphia in the AHL. In 2003-04, he had 12 points (7g-5a) and 174 penalty minutes in 47 games with Trenton and five points (1g-4a) and 116 penalty minutes in 41 games with the Phantoms.
