Sneep agrees to terms with Steelheads


Boise, Idaho – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that the
Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with defenseman Carl Sneep.

The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League and the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

The 25-year-old Sneep was a part of two national championship teams in college at Boston College (2008 and 2010) before turning pro. He was drafted in the second round (32nd overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in December of 2011, picking up an assist on an Evgeni Malkin goal in a victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Sneep has played in 163 professional games, 133 of them in the American Hockey League. Sneep split last season with Texas and the Peoria Rivermen. In 31 games, he had six points (2g-4a) and a +6 rating. He also skated in 29 ECHL games with Wheeling, picking up 15 points (3g-12a) and a +12 rating.
