Orlando, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Nick McParland for the 2013-14 season.
McParland played in each of the final eight games for the Solar Bears last season, scoring four points (2g-2a). Both of McParland’s goals came in his professional debut against the Gwinnett Gladiators on March 17.
The 26-year-old forward joined the Solar Bears after completing a four-year career at Lake Superior State University. In 142 games with LSSU, McParland notched 122 points (48g-74a). His best statistical season came in 2011-12, where as a junior he scored 27 points (14g-13a) in 39 games. That season, the Screiber, Ontario, native led Lake Superior State in goals and finished second in points.
