Miller recorded two assists in 13 AHL games last season, his first in the professional ranks, with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Oklahoma City Barons. He appeared in 37 games with the Stockton Thunder, scoring 38 points (17g-21a), before skating in 15 games and posting 13 points (4g-9a) with the Bakersfield Condors.
Before beginning his professional career, Miller played four seasons (2009-13) for Cornell University. In his senior season of 2012-13, Miller was named the ECAC Best Defensive Forward and was an ECAC Second Team All-Star while leading his team in goals (14) and points (33). The Toronto, Ontario native led Cornell in goals (14), assists (17) and points (31) in 2011-12 and was named to the All-Ivy League Second Team, and he led his team in assists (25) and points (29) in 2010-11. Miller helped Cornell capture the ECAC championship as a freshman in 2009-10.
