SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed forward Cory Urquhart, who has played in the ECHL each of his first four professional seasons.
The Stockton Thunder are the ECHL affiliate of the Falcons of the AHL and the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League.
Selected in the second round (40th overall) by the Canadiens in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 23 year old has 146 points (78g-68a) and 125 penalty minutes in 194 regular season games and four goals and 10 penalty minutes in 13 Kelly Cup Playoff games with Cincinnati and Long Beach.
Urquhart has also played in the AHL where he has 27 points (10g-17a) and 28 penalty minutes in 54 regular season games and four points (2g-2a) in 18 playoff games with Hamilton.
