Steelheads Acquire Rights To Chabbert From Dayton

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads announced that they have acquired the rights to defenseman Steve Chabbert from the Dayton Bombers in exchange for future considerations.

The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League and the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League.

The 26-year-old played in the ECHL as a rookie in 2001-02 and had 14 points (2g-12a) and 82 penalty minutes in 74 regular season games with Roanoke and Greensboro.

He played three years at York University where he had 39 points (9g-30a) and 108 penalty minutes in 70 games from 2003-06.

He returned to professional hockey in 2005-06 and had nine points (1g-8a) and 19 penalty minutes in 23 regular season games and also appeared in four playoff games for Toronto of the AHL.
