Steelheads add pair of forwards

BOISE, Idaho – Head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Friday that forwards Bear Trapp and Dean Yakura have been added to the Idaho Steelheads roster and will be in uniform Friday night when the team hosts Alaska.

 

The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League and the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

 

The 26 year old Trapp was in training camp with the Steelheads in October. After playing four seasons of college hockey at Sacred Heart, Trapp spent the 2009-10 season in the ECHL with the Elmira Jackals and Johnstown Chiefs nettin six goals and adding 11 assists in 32 games between the two teams.

 

Yakura, 25, has been playing with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The British Columbia native had nine points (5g-4a) in 20 appearances with the Ice Flyers after playing four seasons at American International College.
