BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads announced that they are teaming with St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute to host “Pink in the Rink” at Qwest Arena on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
So far this season breast cancer awareness and fundraising events in the ECHL have raised more than $500,000 after raising almost $200,000 a year ago.
The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League and the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League.
Idaho will wear one-of-a-kind pink jerseys for the three games against Stockton which fans can bid on through silent auction on the concourse with the proceeds benefiting St. Luke’s.
The Steelheads have raised $133,000 for St. Luke’s and in March 2006 the first Pink in the Rink generated $21,791 for breast cancer care and treatment.
