Stingrays Acquire Finnerty

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have acquired the rights to center Ryan Finnerty from the Texas Wildcatters in exchange for defenseman Trevor G. Johnson.

South Carolina is the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Texas acquired the rights to the 24-year-old Finnerty from the Victoria Salmon Kings in exchange for the rights to defensemen Simon Mangos and Aaron MacInnis.

In 2004-05 with Victoria, the 5-foot-10 and 190-pound Finnerty scored 26 points and had 165 penalty minutes in 52 games.
