North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins, announced today that the team has signed forward Andy Sackrison.
Sackrison, 24, skated in 31 combined games with Mörrums GoIS and Vallentuna BK in Sweden last season scoring eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points. Before heading overseas, the St. Louis Park, Minn. native completed a four-year collegiate career at Minnesota State University-Mankato adding 52 points (17g-35a) in 125 games. While with the Mavericks, Sackrison was named to the WCHL All-Academic Team three times and was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
Prior to joining the NCAA ranks, the 6-foot-1, 179-pound forward dressed in one season of junior hockey with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL registering 27 points (12g-15a) in 59 games.
