Stingrays Beat Greenville 5-2

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Rookie Dave Spina scored a pair of goals and rookie John Hecimovic (pictured) had a goal and an assist as the South Carolina Stingrays beat the Greenville Grrrowl 5-2 in a preseason game on Friday.

Hecimovic gave South Carolina a 1-0 lead with a goal at 5:10 of the first period while Spina made it 2-0 with a goal at 6:52 and Brad Parsons made it 3-0 with a goal at 16:17. Greenville made it 3-1 with 27 seconds remaining in the period when John Snowden scored.

Marty Clapton made it 4-1 with a power-play goal in the second and Spina scored his second of the game in the third period.
