Stingrays’ MacLean Announces Retirement

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that team captain Cail MacLean has announced his retirement.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

The 31 year old played in the ECHL in nine of his 11 professional seasons and had 439 points (224g-215a) and 298 penalty minutes in 474 regular season games and 50 points (29g-21a) and 36 penalty minutes in 67 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with Jacksonville, Reading, South Carolina and Trenton.

He played the last three seasons with South Carolina and had 137 points (63g-74a) and 130 penalty minutes in 169 regular season games and 15 points (4g-11a) and 18 penalty minutes in 26 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
