Stingrays Sign Campbell, McIlveen, MacDermid, Rainville

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed forwards Trent Campbell and Paul McIlveen and rookie forwards Jeff MacDermid and Jeff Rainville.

The 25-year-old Campbell had 49 points (22g-27a) and 35 penalty minutes in 57 regular season games and 14 points (6g-8a) and 10 penalty minutes in 20 Kelly Cup Playoff games for South Carolina as a rookie in 2007-08 after beginning the season in France where he had four points (2g-2a) and eight penalty minutes in seven games with Villard-de-Lans.

The 22-year-old McIlveen had 34 points (11g-23a) and 61 penalty minutes in 57 regular season games and three goals and 10 penalty minutes in 14 Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Stingrays as a rookie in 2007-08.

The 24-year-old MacDermid has played the last four seasons at the University of Prince Edward Island where he had 56 points (25g-31a) and 126 penalty minutes in 98 games.

The 24-year-old Rainville has been playing in France where he has 19 points (10g-9a) and 37 penalty minutes in 25 games for Villard-de-Lans.
