Stingrays Sign Kiser

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed defenseman Nate Kiser.

Selected in the fifth round (160th overall) by Phoenix in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old was assigned to the Stingrays by Portland in 2004-05 and had 13 points (2g-11a) and 173 penalty minutes in 58 games with South Carolina. The 6-foot-1 and 207-pound Kiser, who is in training camp with Chicago of the AHL, had 29 penalty minutes in five games with Portland before reassignment.

Kiser had 144 penalty minutes and scored 15 points (5g-10a) in 63 games with Dayton of the ECHL in 2003-04 and had one assist and 14 penalty minutes in five games with Syracuse of the AHL.
