Stingrays Sign Rookie Morin

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed rookie forward Travis Morin, who is expected to be in the lineup for the team’s game against Pensacola on Sunday.The Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League signed Morin on Mar. 16 to a two-year entry-level contract beginning in 2007-08.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Capitals of the NHL and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the ninth round (263rd overall) by Washington in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Morin recently completed his career at Minnesota State where he led the team with 17 goals and 39 points in 38 games and was named Second-Team All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
