Stingrays Sign Rookie Morris

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed rookie left wing Ty Morris.

Selected in the fourth round (128th overall) by Vancouver in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old played in the Western Hockey League in 2004-05, scoring 17 points (6g-11a) in 24 games with Vancouver and 55 points (22g-33a) in 42 regular season games and two points (1g-1a) in four playoff games with Red Deer.

In two seasons in the WHL, the 6-0 and 200-pound Morris had 115 points (50g-65a) in 131 regular season games and nine points (6g-3a) in 15 playoff games.
