Stingrays win 13th straight game on Saturday


The South Carolina Stingrays rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the third period on Saturday. scoring three times in the final 11:06 to defeat Florida 4-3 for their 13th consecutive game win.

South Carolina’s 13-game winning streak is the longest in the ECHL since the 2009-10 season when the Stingrays also won 13 straight. It is tied for the fifth longest streak in the ECHL’s 27-year history.

The Stingrays’ streak began with a 7-1 win at Greenville on Feb. 7 and has seen the team post eight of the 13 wins on the road. South Carolina has outscored its opponents 57-23 during the streak. The Stingrays have allowed two goals or less in 10 of the 13 games during the streak.

South Carolina returns to action on Friday when it hosts Gwinnett.
