STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder announced that it has moved its home season opener from December 3 to December 10.
“We are very satisfied with the December 10th date,” said Thunder president Dan Chapman. “It will be well worth the wait and when we drop the first puck we will do so in one of the premier buildings in all of minor league sports.”
The extra week allows for full completion of the new Stockton Arena while also accommodating a request from the Fresno Falcons.
The Falcons and Thunder were scheduled to play at Fresno on February 12, 2006, but Fresno management learned that its building, Save Mart Center, had a scheduling conflict on the date. The schedule change allows the two teams to play December 3 at Fresno and February 12 at Stockton.
