Stockton’s Dubnyk, Spurgeon
Reassigned To Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder announced that All-Star rookie goaltender Devan Dubnyk and rookie center Tyler Spurgeon have been reassigned by the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

The Thunder is the ECHL affiliate of the Oilers.

Selected in the first round (14th overall) by Edmonton in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old Dubnyk is seventh in the ECHL with a 2.57 goals-against-average and is 13-5-6 record with a .920 save percentage and one shutout.

Selected in the eighth round (242nd overall) by Edmonton in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old Spurgeon is fourth on the Thunder with 29 points (13g-16a) in 39 games.
