Stockton’s O’Connell Nominated For Ironman Award

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder announced that defenseman Tim O’Connell is among the nominees for the 2007 InterContinental Hotels Group Ironman Award.

The Ironman Award is presented annually to one Professional Hockey Players’ Association member playing in the ECHL and one PHPA member playing in the American Hockey League, who has participated in at least 72 games while contributing both offensively and defensively.

Nominations are based upon individual player performance with primary consideration placed on games played, points and plus-/minus rating. A committee comprised of PHPA officials will determine the winners who will be announced at the PHPA Annual Meeting of Player Representatives in June.

The Thunder are the ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League.
