Storm Receives Jackson, Koopmans

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Storm announced that they have been assigned forward Todd Jackson and goaltender Logan Koopmans from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Toledo is the ECHL affiliate of the Griffins and the Cleveland Barons of the AHL and the Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the eighth round (251st overall) by Detroit in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 24-year-old Jackson had 25 points (12g-13a) in 35 regular season games and played four Kelly Cup Playoff games for Toledo as a rookie in 2004-05 while also picking up two assists in 30 games with Grand Rapids.

Selected in the fifth round (166th overall) by Detroit in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old Koopmans was 12-10-1 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.82 and a save percentage of .906 in 25 games for the Storm as a rookie in 2004-05.
