Storm Signs Brown, Collins

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Storm announced that it has signed goaltenders Mike Brown and Chad Collins.

Toledo is the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League and the Grand Rapids Griffins and the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League.

Brown is a rookie from Ferris State University where he holds the school career records for wins (63), shutouts (10) and saves (3,409) while ranking second in goals-against average (2.82) and save percentage (.907).

In his first professional season in 2004-05, the 24-year-old Collins was the Goaltender of the Year in the Southern Professional Hockey League after going 25-13 with four shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.48 and a save percentage of .922 with Fayetteville and was 2-1-0 with a goals-against average of 2.78 and a save percentage of .930 in four games with Augusta.
